RATurday Update 1!

Hello rat and reptile friends -- welcome to my first UnCre weekly update!

This week has been a fun one, with some babies opening their eyes, Wolfie kids growing their first little mohawks, and more locks from the snakes!

I have both good and bad news for the Rodentry update this week!

The good news? HD and Vigo finally released their hostage beans, so we have two more litters to fawn over! Vigo's line is not quite ready for pet homes yet, so I'm hoping to get some nice Chocolate and Haze kids from this litter and will continue to select for the best temperaments.

HD was paired with one of our squishy Lux boys (Inosuke) so as long as her babies remain healthy I will likely have some kiddos from her litter available for adoption in a few weeks! Her line's genetics are a bit of a mixed bag, so I'll be very interested to see how the babies' colors and markings come in!

Aosoth's litter of 10 is continuing to thrive and it looks like I got a lot of nice Champagne, Silver Fawn and Agouti, as well as some Satin and an couple surprise Hairless kids!

Now for the bad news-- Alecto's litter will no longer be eligible for pet homing as she displayed some moderate Maternal Aggression (MA) toward me when I went to check on her kids. Since rat behavior has very strong genetic links, any lines with mothers who display MA toward me are immediately removed from consideration for pet homes. I will, however, be fostering over two of her children to Aosoth, as I finally got my Russian Champagne and a very cute Russian Silver Fawn doe in the hopes that I can remove the poor behavior down the road.

REPTARIUM update:

I got a few more locks from Ungoliant, Mother and Rogue and have noticed some developing behaviors from Ungoliant and Mother so I'm hopeful that I'll have a few clutches on the way very soon!

Eldritch and Quark (Leopard Geckos) are also finally up to breeding size and age, so I'll be keeping a close eye on Eldritch so I can catch her when she's ovulating and get her paired up!

Otherwise, I'm just playing the waiting game with the other ball pythons and will hopefully be upgrading enclosures for many of them soon!
